About the Workshop
In Workshop 3: Light & Shadow, students learn how light direction, intensity and quality shape the mood of an image. We’ll shoot on location — typically Southsea Beach at golden hour or Spice Island — and practice simple, repeatable techniques for reading and using available light.
This 2–3 hour session helps students create more intentional images — from gentle, reflective tones to bold silhouettes and dramatic shadows.
What will students learn?
- How to work with natural light in different conditions (golden hour, shade, backlight).
- Creating silhouettes, managing contrast, and using reflections.
- Controlling exposure choices for mood and clarity.
- Practical on-location techniques for consistent results.
Who is this for?
- GCSE students who want to elevate the look and feel of their images with light.
- Learners ready to explore the creative potential of natural light.
Small groups (max ~5) keep teaching personal and focused.
