About these terms
These terms apply when you use this website, create an account, purchase an online course or book an AH Photography Workshop.
The services are provided by Andy Hornby trading as AH Photography Workshops. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean AH Photography Workshops.
Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be excluded under UK consumer law.
Bookings and payment
- Prices are displayed before checkout and payment is normally required in full to secure a place.
- A booking is confirmed when payment has been accepted and a confirmation is displayed or sent.
- You are responsible for supplying an accurate email address and contact information.
- Places may not be transferred or resold without our prior agreement.
- Any payment-provider terms also apply to the payment transaction itself.
Your cancellation
You may request cancellation through your account where that option is available, or by contacting us.
More than seven days before the workshop
We will normally refund the amount paid less any reasonable costs and losses directly resulting from the cancellation. This may include payment charges, administration already completed and a place that we cannot reasonably resell.
Seven days or fewer before the workshop
A refund may not be available where the place cannot reasonably be resold and we have committed time, facilities, models, locations or other costs based on the booking.
Exceptional circumstances
We may consider transfers, credit or partial refunds where serious circumstances prevent attendance. Any decision will depend on the circumstances and costs already incurred.
Not attending a workshop without cancelling does not normally create an automatic right to a refund.
Changes or cancellation by us
Workshops depend on suitable weather, locations, access, instructors, models and minimum attendance. We may make reasonable changes where needed.
Where we make a significant change, we will explain the options available. These may include accepting the revised arrangements, transferring to another date or receiving an appropriate refund.
If we cancel a workshop entirely, you will receive a refund of the workshop fee paid. We are not responsible for separate travel, accommodation or other arrangements you book independently, except where the law requires otherwise.
Attending a workshop
- Workshop descriptions explain the expected skill level, location and physical requirements.
- You are responsible for deciding whether the workshop is suitable for your health, mobility and experience.
- Please bring suitable clothing, footwear and equipment for the stated environment.
- You must follow reasonable safety, location and group instructions.
- We may ask someone to leave where their behaviour is unsafe, abusive, disruptive or significantly affects other participants.
- Privately managed locations may impose their own photography, tripod or access restrictions.
Photography and filming
We may occasionally photograph or film a workshop for educational or promotional purposes. Tell Andy before or during the workshop if you do not wish to appear, and reasonable steps will be taken to avoid including you.
Online courses and digital content
- Course access is personal to the purchasing account and must not be shared or redistributed.
- Videos, downloads, text and teaching materials remain protected by copyright.
- You may use the material for your own learning, but may not copy, resell, publish or teach from it commercially without permission.
- Course availability, software compatibility and any access duration will be described on the relevant sales page.
Where you request immediate access to paid digital content, your statutory cancellation rights may be affected once supply begins. This does not remove rights relating to faulty or misdescribed content.
Member accounts
- Account details must be accurate and kept current.
- You are responsible for protecting your password.
- Contact us promptly if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.
- We may suspend an account where necessary to protect security, prevent misuse or investigate suspected fraud.
Monthly photo competition
- Entry is available through the public competition page and does not require a member account.
- Normally only one entry per email address is accepted for each competition month.
- You must own the photograph or have permission to submit and display it.
- You retain copyright in your photograph.
- By entering, you give AH Photography Workshops permission to display the image in connection with the competition, including within the Facebook community and on this website.
- Entries that are unlawful, offensive, misleading or infringe another person’s rights may be removed.
- The organiser’s reasonable decision regarding eligibility and selection is final.
Privacy and cookies
We process personal information to operate accounts, manage bookings, provide purchased services, prevent fraud, administer competitions and communicate about those services.
Information may include your name, email address, contact details, booking history, payment references and competition-entry information.
Payment-card information is handled by the relevant payment provider rather than stored directly by this website.
Cookies and local storage
Essential cookies and similar technologies may be used for security, sessions, account access and checkout. Optional technologies should only be used where an appropriate legal basis or consent applies.
Browser controls can be used to remove or block cookies, although blocking essential cookies may stop login or checkout features from working.
Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably required for service, legal, accounting and security purposes.
Responsibility and liability
Photography workshops may involve walking, darkness, uneven ground, public spaces, weather, water, equipment and other ordinary outdoor risks. Participants must take reasonable care of themselves, other people and their property.
We are not responsible for loss caused by matters outside our reasonable control or by a participant’s failure to follow reasonable instructions.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or statutory consumer rights.
Contact and complaints
Questions, cancellation requests and complaints can be submitted through the contact page or emailed to info@Andy-Hornby.co.uk .
Please provide the booking email, workshop or course name and a clear explanation of the issue. We will aim to respond within a reasonable period.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. This does not remove any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
Contact Andy and we will be happy to clarify anything that is relevant to your workshop or course.
