How practical training works

Built around you, not a generic class

Sessions are arranged around our availability and take place at a suitable location within 20 miles of Portsmouth. The training is adapted to your camera, your experience and the type of photography you enjoy.

We discuss your experience, equipment and goals before arranging the first practical session.

Work through practical exercises with clear guidance and immediate help when something does not make sense.

Use the time between sessions to practise before we review your progress and continue developing.

What you need

Bring the camera you already own

Essential

Your camera, charged batteries, memory cards and the lenses you normally use.

Useful, but optional

A tripod, remote shutter release and filters if you already own them.

Any camera brand

Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus, Panasonic and other major camera systems are all welcome.

Where do the sessions take place?

Sessions are arranged at an appropriate location within approximately 20 miles of Portsmouth.

How are the five hours divided?

Each level is normally delivered across two sessions, with at least a month between them so you have time to practise.

Can the training be tailored to me?

Yes. The practical exercises and explanations are adapted to your camera, current knowledge and goals.

What happens after I purchase?
