Learn how to capture the rotation of the Earth through star trails, or the breathtaking clarity of the Milky Way. We’ll cover planning, camera settings, and how to stack and edit for the best results.

Light Painting & Car Trails

Add creativity and fun to your night shots with light painting tools or passing car lights. You’ll discover how to create controlled, colourful images and use long exposures to transform ordinary scenes into extraordinary ones.

Who Is This For?

These workshops are suitable for anyone comfortable with the basics of their camera who wants to push into the exciting world of night photography. Beginners are welcome, and you’ll get step-by-step guidance to ensure you go home with images you’re proud of.

What to Bring

  • A camera with manual mode (DSLR or mirrorless preferred).
  • A sturdy tripod (essential for long exposures).
  • A wide-angle lens (ideal for astro and landscapes).
  • A torch or headlamp (red light recommended for astro).
  • Warm clothing — we’ll often be standing still outdoors at night.
  • Optional: Light painting tools or a speedlight if you’d like to experiment.
