Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 8 Nov 2025

Welcome to AH Photography Workshops (the “Site”). By accessing or booking via this Site, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms apply to all workshop bookings (in-person or online), site usage, and related services provided by Andy Hornby (“we”, “us”).

1) General Disclaimer

  • Physical requirements: This is a long slog and a hard walking workshop. If you have any physical complications or mobility concerns, please consider whether this workshop is suitable for you.
  • Filming: We may record video for our YouTube channel. If you prefer not to be on camera, please let Andy know on the day and we will do our best to exclude you from the vlog.
  • Liability: We assume no liability for any act, error, omission, injury, loss, delay, mishap, or damage to persons or property arising from any cause during the course of the workshop or in transit thereto.
  • Service changes: We accept no responsibility for losses or additional expenses due to delays or changes in services to be provided.
  • Right to amend/cancel: We reserve the right to change arrangements should conditions necessitate, or to cancel any aspect of the workshop due to exceptional circumstances. If we deem it necessary to cancel, we will provide a full refund — which participants acknowledge as full and final settlement.
  • Skill level: Some workshops are not beginner-level. By purchasing, you confirm you can operate your camera without beginner instruction. If you arrive unable to use your camera and require extensive beginner help, you may be asked to leave and you will forfeit the workshop price.
  • Minimum numbers: In the unlikely event only one or two people are booked, the workshop may be cancelled or rescheduled at short notice.
  • Communication: By registering, you agree that we may contact you via email regarding your booking, reminders, and post-event feedback or review requests. You can opt out of non-essential emails any time.
  • Contact: For any issues, please email info@Andy-Hornby.co.uk.

2) Booking & Payments

  • Payment is taken at the point of booking via our payment provider(s). Your booking is confirmed once you receive a confirmation email.
  • Where applicable, access to online content is granted to the account that completed the purchase.
  • Please ensure your account email is correct to receive confirmations and updates.

3) Cancellation Policy

If you cancel within 7 days of the workshop start date, you will forfeit any monies paid.

If you cancel earlier than 7 days before the workshop start, you will receive a refund minus a Booking & Processing fee. This fee is calculated as 30% of the ticket price, rounded up to the nearest £10, with a minimum fee of £20.

Examples:

  • Ticket price £50 → 30% = £15 → below minimum → £20 fee → refund is £30.
  • Ticket price £99 → 30% = £29.70 → rounded up = £30 fee → refund is £69.
  • Ticket price £135 → 30% = £40.50 → rounded up = £50 fee → refund is £85.
  • Ticket price £200 → 30% = £60.00 → rounded up = £60 fee → refund is £140.

If you purchase a ticket within 7 days of the event, you agree that you forfeit any refund if you later cancel.

By purchasing, you agree to these terms.

4) Photography on Private Estates (e.g., Canary Wharf)

Some estates are privately managed and may restrict or require permits for filming/photography. While we do not anticipate issues, please be mindful of estate policies. As guidance:

  • You may not need a permit if: images are solely for amateur purposes (no commercial intent), equipment is minimal (e.g., camera and stationary tripod), you do not cause disruption/harm, you are outdoors, and you are not filming entrances/security arrangements.
  • We will typically keep to hand-held shooting within estate boundaries and describe ourselves as hobbyist photographers if approached. Please avoid mentioning the workshop unless asked by estate staff.
  • If asked to leave, we will do so promptly and without issue.

Most workshop shooting is outside the estate boundaries — often photographing architecture from a distance.

5) Privacy & Cookie Policy

This Site uses cookies and similar technologies to function, secure your session, and improve your experience. Some third parties (e.g., our payment provider) may also set cookies when using checkout features.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help remember preferences, keep you logged in, and collect limited information to operate the site.

Types of cookies we use

  • Strictly necessary cookies (essential): required for core site features such as login sessions, security, and checkout. The site won’t function properly without these.
  • Performance/analytics cookies (optional): if enabled, these help us understand how the site is used (e.g., page popularity) so we can improve it. We only use these where legally permitted and/or with your consent.
  • Functionality cookies: remember choices (e.g., dismissing banners) to enhance your experience.
  • Third-party cookies: set by services we integrate (e.g., PayPal for secure payment). These are controlled by the third party’s policies.

How we use your data

  • To create/manage your account and process bookings.
  • To deliver purchased content and customer support.
  • To send essential emails (booking confirmations, reminders, verification). You may opt out of non-essential emails.
  • To protect our services (fraud prevention, security).

Managing cookies

You can control cookies via your browser settings (e.g., block, delete, or limit them). Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the Site from working (e.g., you won’t be able to log in or pay).

Consent

On first visit, we display a cookie banner. By clicking “Got it!” or continuing to use the Site, you consent to our use of cookies as described here. You may withdraw consent by clearing cookies/storage in your browser and adjusting your settings.
